Founded in 2009, Horseradish began as the catering arm of Chester Racecourse. Since then, we’ve grown into a full-scale event partner for some of the UK’s most iconic venues, from RHS Flower Shows to Liverpool’s grandest halls and cathedrals.

Today, as a Cheshire catering company, we deliver luxury catering across the North West, North Wales, and beyond. The Horseradish Story
2009 Horseradish is founded

Horseradish Catering is founded, providing catering services to over 300,000 racegoers during the Chester Racecourse and Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse seasons.

2010 Outdoor Events

Horseradish wins its first outdoor event contract at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power. The company also secures a major contract to deliver 30,000 covers for Christmas parties at Knowsley Hall and Tatton Park.

2011 Royal Audience

Horseradish partners with Celebrity Chef James Martin for the Audi Polo event, serving Prince William and guests. The team manages the inaugural Chester Rocks festival and Chester Racecourse wins a prestigious National Racecourse Catering Award for excellence.

2012 Homecoming

Horseradish is appointed caterer for the Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod and provides catering for Her Majesty the Queen at the Welsh homecoming parade at Chester Racecourse, serving 2,500 soldiers and their families.

2013 Chester Partnerships

Horseradish is appointed as the full facility manager of Chester Town Hall. The team also manages Chester’s first Winter Wonderland, attracting 100,000 visitors. This year, Horseradish launches its in-house patisserie division.

2014 Say Cheese!

Horseradish provides public catering and hospitality services at the world’s largest international cheese show.

2015 Let's go racing

Horseradish becomes the preferred caterer at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and caters for an event with over 700 guests. The company is also awarded the catering contract for the Wales GB Rally.

2016 Time for Tea

Horseradish secures the catering contract for the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park.

2017 RHS Chatsworth

Horseradish wins the catering contract for the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show, including the prestigious Wedgewood Tea Room. The company also launches its in-house staffing agency, Thyme People, providing staff for events across the UK, including Royal Ascot, Cheltenham Festival, The Open, Henley Regatta, and Chester Zoo.

2018 A Royal Greeting...

Horseradish manages a royal lunch for Her Majesty the Queen and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex at Chester Town Hall for the opening of Story house. The team also handles full event management for over 20,000 spectators at a Tom Jones concert.
